MUTRIE - George Albert Mutrie ~ Jan. 31, 1908 - Jan. 31 - 2010 George passed away peacefully at Cypress Lodge at the age of 102 years. George had an amazing life, the witnessed the advancement from horse and buggy days to space travel and man walking on the moon. He was always a positive thinker and a gentleman. The last two years George was a resident of Cypress Lodge, his family would like to thank the wonderful staff for the excellent care and attention that they gave to George. His quick wit, stories and quotes will always be remembered. George was predeceased by his loving wife Louisa of 67 years; his daughter Elaine and son-in-law Mike Kreutzer. He is survived by his loving family of two daughters Eleanor (Len) Lonsdale, Elpha (Gay) Holeha; eight grandchildren Marlene (Wade) Forbes, Ross Kreutzer, Patrick (Diane) Lonsdale, Jana (David) Honing, Darren Holeha, Cory (Janley) Holeha, Travis Holeha and Tyson Holeha; seven great grandchildren Lance, Blake and Eric Forbes; Emma and Katelyn Honing; Ava and Jake Lonsdale. The funeral service was held on Fri., Feb. 5, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the Maple Creek United Church. Interment took place at the Maple Creek Cemetery. George’s wishes for memorial donations were either to the Cypress Lodge for resident activities or the Southwest Sask. Oldtimers’ Museum. |
