A proposed bed and breakfast and restaurant for Maple Creek has a number of residents concerned.
Seven residents attended a public hearing regarding the rezoning of a residence on Marsh Street to commercial use during council’s regular meeting on January 25.

On Jan. 18 Canadian Western Agribition CEO and manager Jason Pollock announced he is stepping down.
The CWA’s executive is currently searching for a replacement for their CEO who will return to Maple Creek on March 31 to take over his family’s ranch.

Flood plains study to be released next month PDF Print

The flood plains study for the Maple Creek area is expected to be presented to the town in February.
A rough draft of the study, which was conducted by Water Resource Consultants Ltd. of Regina on behalf of the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority (SWA) and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), was presented to both parties earlier this month for review.

$20 million for flood prevention PDF Print

Maple Creek may soon see assistance from the province in preventing future flooding.
Premier Brad Wall said on Jan. 19 the government is looking at addressing the concern for spring flooding by building dams, berms and other temporary fixes in communities throughout Saskatchewan.

Maple Creek RCMP received reports of two vehicles skidding off the Trans-Canada Highway on Friday morning.
