The results are in!
Maple Creek received four out of a possible five blooms from Communities in Bloom judges.
The town also took first place in its population category as it was the only entry. Because it received four blooms and won its provincial category, Maple Creek now has the option of entering the national competition in 2012 or 2013.

A downed power line was the cause of a devastating loss of livestock at a local ranch.
Kevin and Jen Widmer discovered 11 of their cows were killed by a damaged line at their ranch about 15 kilometres west of Maple Creek on Sept. 18.
