Saskatchewan's educators have been called to the table to discuss an amendment to the Education Act, which could have kids heading back to class after Labour Day.
Proposed legislation brought forward by the Saskatchewan Party during the 2011 provincial election will delay back-to-school in Saskatchewan until after the Labour Day long weekend.

Cypress Hills Vineyard & Winery has once more been selected as one of  the best of the best Canadian wine makers at the 2011 Wine Access Canadian Wine Awards (CWA).
Owners and operators Marty and Marie Bohnet received two bronze medals for their black currant and  honey, and Spring wines.

Fort Qu'Appelle RCMP continue their search for Preston Buffalocalf and Kelfert Watetch following a homicide in Fort Qu'Appelle on Dec. 1.
RCMP have received information on the whereabouts of Buffalocalf and Watetch, but both remain at large.

An update on the town's Main Street program was provided to council during its regular meeting on Dec. 13.
Royce Pettyjohn, manager of community and economic development, discussed the highlights of the program that will see $125,000 provided each year for the next three years to revitalize Maple Creek's downtown.

Cold winter in store for Prairies PDF Print

Although winter in the Southwest has started off with very pleasant temperatures, the forecast says it will be dry, cold and windy this winter on the Prairies.
According to Environment Canada climatologist David Phillips, the difference between the upcoming winter season and previous years is the variable weather.
