OPSAL - James Opsal, 1941 - 2012
With great sadness, we announce the death of Dr. James Orville Opsal who passed away on October 4, 2012 in Moose Jaw, Sask. He was born June 1, 1941 in Maple Creek, Sask.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Iris Grace (Wiwchar) Opsal in 1999, his mother Margaret Opsal, and his father Orville Opsal. He is survived by his son, Douglas and his wife, Amber, aunt Lilian Needrum, uncle George Opsal, sister-in-law Patricia (Stan) Hawryliw, brother-in-law David (Louise) Wiwchar, niece Rachelle, nephew Michael, Cousins, and many loving friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Moose Jaw Funeral Home on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

HOGABOAM - Donald "Bruce" Hogaboam of High River, Alberta passed away at Calgary, Alberta on Monday, October 1, 2012.
He is survived by his children, Ron (Debbie) and Ronda (John); his grandchildren, Derek, Ian, Stacia, Jamie and Shelby; his brother Harold Hogaboam, his sister Jean Van Tassel; as well as several nephews and nieces, extended family and many friends.

HANSON - Winnifred Anne Verpy or Pat, as she was known, was born in Frontier, Saskatchewan on August 3, 1938. She spent her early childhood on the family farm near Loomis and went to school in Loomis until her familiy moved to Eastend, where she finished her schooling.
Auntie Pat was very athletic as a young lady and excelled at basketball and softball. She was also very musical and sang as well as playing piano and guitar. After school she moved to Saskatoon where she took her nurses' aide training and then worked in hospitals in B.C. and Alberta before moving to Maple Creek.

SCHAFER - Florence Schafer ~ July 23, 1914 ~ September 29, 2012
Mrs. Florence Schafer, beloved wife of the late Nick Schafer, passed  away peacefully with family by her side at the Medicine Hat Regional  Hospital on Sat., Sept. 29, 2012, at the age of 98 years.  
Florence was born on July 23, 1914, oldest daughter to Robert and Flora Dickieson.  Her roots were planted in a farming community at  Findlater, Sask. She attended the one-room rural school there as a  child and in 1935 after attending normal school returned as a young  teacher, teaching grades 1-11, of whom three were her own siblings. A  dedicated teacher she was, often staying after school or on Saturdays  helping her students. She later accepted teaching positions at  Fairlight, Qu’appelle Valley, Brancepeth, and finally south of the  Cypress Hills at Senate. It was here that she met her cowboy  “Nick” who later became her husband and companion for 45 years.

FREIMUTH - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Albert Freimuth announce his passing on September 24, 2012 in Rainier, Alberta at the age of 73 years. Albert was born on April 2, 1939 in Maple Creek and grew up and received his education in Golden Prairie.
He met Marion Agnes Kurjupweit and they were married on Sept. 21, 1963.
