SCHAFER - Florence Schafer ~ July 23, 1914 ~ September 29, 2012
Mrs. Florence Schafer, beloved wife of the late Nick Schafer, passed  away peacefully with family by her side at the Medicine Hat Regional  Hospital on Sat., Sept. 29, 2012, at the age of 98 years.  
Florence was born on July 23, 1914, oldest daughter to Robert and Flora Dickieson.  Her roots were planted in a farming community at  Findlater, Sask. She attended the one-room rural school there as a  child and in 1935 after attending normal school returned as a young  teacher, teaching grades 1-11, of whom three were her own siblings. A  dedicated teacher she was, often staying after school or on Saturdays  helping her students. She later accepted teaching positions at  Fairlight, Qu’appelle Valley, Brancepeth, and finally south of the  Cypress Hills at Senate. It was here that she met her cowboy  “Nick” who later became her husband and companion for 45 years.

FREIMUTH - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Albert Freimuth announce his passing on September 24, 2012 in Rainier, Alberta at the age of 73 years. Albert was born on April 2, 1939 in Maple Creek and grew up and received his education in Golden Prairie.
He met Marion Agnes Kurjupweit and they were married on Sept. 21, 1963.

YEAST - Hazel Yeast ~ 1917 ~  2012
Hazel Edith Yeast of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Frank Yeast, passed away on Mon., Sept. 24, 2012 at the age of 95 years. 
Hazel leaves to cherish her memory three children – Asa (Jean) Yeast, Bill Yeast, and Dallas Gibson, and their families; two sisters-in-law – Stella Yeast and Nancy Hanna; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

KOHLS - Jane Kohls 1925 ~  2012
Mrs. Jannette (Jane) Kohls, beloved wife of the late Mr. David C. Kohls of Medicine Hat, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2012 at the age of 87 years. 
Jannette leaves to cherish her memory four children, Larry (Sandra) of Redcliff, Donna (Douglas) Storrs of Medicine Hat, Byron (Deb) of Parksville, B.C., and Beverley (Les) Bischoff of Medicine Hat; seven grandchildren, Scott (Shelby), Jodi (Adam Rich), Stephen (Paula), Brent (Tonia), Tanis (Robin) O’Reilly, Jennifer Storrs, and Renee (Chris) Mealing; six great-grandchildren, Jack and Luke, Trinity and Peyton, and Seth and Neila.

DUMONT - Vera Dumont ~ 1925 – 2012
Vera May Curling was born on March 23, 1925 to parents, John and Ellen Curling.  She was born in the Curling home “The Studio” in the picturesque English village of Amberley, West Sussex.  Vera was the third of five children; Eric, Vernon, Vera, Jean and Beryl.  The family later relocated to the nearby village of Washington.  In 1939, at the age of 14, Vera was sent to London to work as a nanny.  After a brief return home at the outbreak of the Second World War, Vera return to London and remained there for two and half years. In 1942, she returned home to work as a companion for an elderly woman needing assistance.
