ARMSTRONG - Larry George Armstrong, age 66, passed away on Nov. 25, 2011 at Water Valley, Alberta. Larry was born January 13, 1945 in Maple Creek, the oldest son of Bert and Martha Armstrong. He lived and went to school at the Armstrong Creek District until 1958. He then attended school and graduated from the Eastend High School. Larry loved sports, but excelled at playing the base guitar, playing in a band “The Del Royals.” On December 11, 1965 he married Bev Dupmeier and worked for Marathon Oil. The years that followed included ranching in the Eastend area and small acreages around Medicine Hat, Alberta. Then finally settling in the Big Valley/Stettler district. Larry will be remembered by all the kids for teaching them how to play cribbage even by the early age of five, and helping them learn how to ride horses or drive vehicles. He is predeceased by his parents Bert and Martha Armstrong, his caring wife Bev Armstrong and his granddaughter Dee Mezie. Larry will be missed by his three kids – Wendy Armstrong of Eastend, Leanne (Dan) Dubeau of Seven Persons and Kelly (Robin) Armstrong of Big Valley and of course his grandchildren Devon, Delwyn, Jessie and Jake. His sisters Gail (Henry) Braun, Carol (Dave) Hanna, Cheryl (Bob) Perkins and Brother Rick (Rhonda), many special cousins and friends and coffee buddies.
