FORD - Ethel Ford ~ November 17, 1918 - January 14, 2012
With great sadness the family of Ethel Ford announces her peaceful passing at the Cypress Lodge in Maple Creek on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the age of 93 years.

Ethel leaves to cherish her memory  five children: Gordon (Myrtle) Ford of Maple Creek, Darlene (Bill) Fletcher of St. Albert, Gary (Peggy) Ford of Maple Creek, Sharon (Lloyd) Ritchie of Winnipeg and Bryan Ford of Leader. She also leaves to mourn her passing 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Ethel was predeceased by her husband Hilton John Ford in 1968, her son Kenneth Dwaine Ford and her grandson Glenn Allan Ford.
Ethel was raised by her parents on a farm west of Maple Creek in the Arbana School District. Her parents, Wasil and Polly Wilnechenko, raised 10 children. Her two surviving siblings are sisters Iva Dietrich (George) of Medicine Hat and Kathleen Long of Denver, Colorado.
Ethel gloried in her independence, her family and her farm and thrived on hard work. Even though she worked long hours on the farm, Ethel found time to be a member of the Royal Purple, a supporter of the Royal Edward Community Centre, and an enthusiastic curler.
The funeral service was held at the Maple Creek United Church in Maple Creek, Sask. on Thurs., Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. with Eleanor Bowie officiating. Interment will take place at the Maple Creek Cemetery at a later date. Active pallbearers were Jason Ford, Clint Ritchie, Bill Fletcher, Calin Ritchie, Gayle Stanko, Jackie Robinson, Heather Fletcher, Kimberley Ritchie.
Friends who wish to, may remember Ethel with gifts to the new Maple Creek Hospital Equipment Fund or to the Jasper Centre.
