Tumbach, Anne (Volk)

TUMBACH – Mrs. Anne (Volk), age 89 years of Leader, Sask. passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Western Senior Citizens Home in Leader.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Edward J and her children: Daryl (Eileen) and their children Janna (Richard) Cuthbert , Kirsty (Brad) Sanesh and their children Faith and Paxton, Ron (Brenda) and their children Christian (Jennifer), Rhonda (Ryan) Heather and their children Lochlan, Colton and Anna, John (Melissa), and Matthew: Beverlee (Dennis) Klein and their son Greg (Tani) and their children Mila and Oscar. She is also survived by sisters Edith Garrecht, Julie (Mike) Frey brother-in-law Roy Tumbach, sister in law Anna Tumback and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents Fidelis and Madeline Volk, father in law and mother in law Alex & Pauline Tumbach, brothers Frank & Anne Volk, John & Pauline Volk and in-laws Pete Garrecht, Frank, Richard & Dolores Tumbach and Aileen Tumbach.
She was born October 4, 1928 near Mendham. On December 29,1947 she married Edward Tumbach at St. Anthony’s Church in Mendham. She was very active on the Board when Sacred Heart Church at Liebenthal was built. She was also an active member of Little Flower Parish in Leader, acting as Sacristan and involved in the Catholic Women’s League. She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always had a very good sense of humour and a quick wit – she loved to laugh. Family and others are blessed to be in possession of many fine pieces of needlepoint and quilts fashioned by Anne’s hands. She was an excellent cook, baker and enjoyed gardening immensely. She valued family and faith very highly and was fulfilled by having her family present. She had a very strong faith in God and passed it along to her children. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side and went home to be with her Savior. A full life was lived until her declining health necessitated residing in the Western Senior Citizens Home in Leader where she was cared for as family.
Memorial donations may be made to the Western Senior Citizens Home Auxiliary in Leader. Prayers were held on December 11, 2017 at Little Flower Parish and Funeral Mass on December 12, 2017 with Fr. Joseph Thazhathemuriyil officiating. Interment took place at the Leader Cemetery.
