He spent a number of years working on the Yeast Ranch before returning to the homestead, where he farmed and ranched for the remainder of his life.
He married Agnes Keller on October 30, 1965 and they raised three children. He took pride in raising Charolais cattle with his son, who will continue to reside on the homestead and carry on the farm and ranch. He was a cowboy at heart and raised and trained numerous horses over the years – a passion he passed down to many of his children and grandchildren. Grandpa loved spoiling the grandkids and always had a good supply of ice cream ready for their visits. He loved to joke – when all of the work was done – and his big heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
