A Close Shave for a Good Cause

Doreen Brost has a laugh as her hairdresser, Kole Van Maarion of Red Velvet Hair & Body Boutique in Medicine Hat, shaves her head at the Relay For Life Launch at the Legion Hall on Tuesday evening. Before the clippers were turned on, her hair was auctioned off to support the Canadian Cancer Society. Her husband Glenn was the highest bidder at $375. As her locks were sheered off, Doreen chuckled, “Now Glenn’s got more hair than me!” Her grandchildren then took turns signing her freshly-buzzed head.
