Major drug bust at Richmound

A routine traffic stop led to more than $430,000 in marijuana plants being seized in Richmound.
Leader RCMP conducted the traffic stop in Richmound on the evening of July 3 and found a significant amount of cannabis marijuana inside the vehicle.
The following morning a search warrant was executed at a small house on Barsness Bay where a sophisticated marijuana grow operation housing over 433 plants was discovered.
As a result of the search three people are charged with offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act including production of cannabis marijuana and possession for the purpose of trafficking in cannabis marijuana. Those three individuals are Charleene McBride, Ronald Hodgson and Keith McBride, all of Richmound.
Charleene McBride and Hodgson are charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cannabis marijuana and one count of production of cannabis marijuana.
Keith McBride is charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cannabis marijuana and one count of production of cannabis marijuana.
The McBrides appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court at 10:00 a.m. yesterday.
Hodgson has been released on a promise to appear in Swift Current Provincial Court on Sept. 17, 2015.
The investigation is ongoing.
