UPDATED: Amber Alert Cancelled – Missing 7-year-old Nipawin girl found dead

UPDATE: The Amber alert for the missing 7-year-old was cancelled by RCMP this afternoon, hours after the body of her father was found.

Today, at approximately 12:45 p.m., investigators located Nia deceased in a residence in Choiceland, Sask.

Autopsies have been ordered for Nia and Adam Eastman to assist with determining the time and cause of death. At this point in the investigation, there is no indication anyone else is involved in Nia’s death.

No suspects in either death are currently being sought.

ORIGINAL: Amber Alert continues for missing Nipawin girl, 7-year-old Nia Eastman. She is believed to have been taken by her father Adam Eastman.

A vehicle believed to be operated by Adam Jay Eastman was located on a rural property east of Smeaton near Snowden at approximately 10 p.m. Neither Adam nor Nia were located with the vehicle.

The RCMP confirmed Thursday that the body of Adam Jay Eastman, the father of Nia Eastman, was found at around 5:30 a.m. CST. He died of self-inflicted injuries, the RCMP said.

Nia still hasn’t been located.

She is a Caucasian female, 120 cm tall, weight 22.7 kilograms. She has blonde, shoulder length hair. She was last seen wearing pink eye glasses, purple long sleeved shirt with butterflies, pink skirt and purple leggings with silver trim at the bottom.
