Youth with a Mission team comes to Family Church

Posted on August 3, 2021 by Maple Creek
Spirit of fellowship: A Medicine Hat outreach team from the Christian movement, Youth With A Mission (YWAM), came to Maple Creek’s Family Church last week, conveying the message of the gospel, and teaching youth camp participants how they can hear God’s voice. The team, led by Tufaina Luatua (back row, far left), included McKenna Overn, Lindy Petersen, Robin Ross, Thomas Kuksuk, and Tamaira Ramcharitar. Pictured back row, far right, is Pastor Paul Martens, from Family Church. During its week-long stay, the YWAM team organized, among other things, Bible-based skits, and games like “hide and seek” and “the human knot” that encouraged a spirit of camaraderie. YWAM, which began in 1960, is an international volunteer movement of Christians from many backgrounds, cultures and Christian traditions. Its purpose is to know God and make Him known. It operates in more than 1,000 locations in 150-plus countries, with a staff of nearly 16,000.

In a tangle: The “human knot” was one of the fun games played last Tuesday.
