Stanley was born in Eastend, Sask on August 30th, 1926.  He was raised on a farm north of Ravenscrag, Sask (North Bench District).  He attended agricultural college in Saskatoon one winter and worked a winter at a furniture factory in Ontario before moving back to Sask.  Stan married the love of his life Mary Anne Simonson in 1954 and they moved to the farm to work and raise a family.  In addition to farming he enjoyed music, reading fishing, hunting, repairing and Mr. Fix-It jobs, gardening, spending time with his dear friends, enjoying camping in the coulee.   He had a soft heart for his pets often driving around the farm with either the cats or dog in the vehicle.  His Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren were a big highlight in his life and he always looked forward to their visits.  Stan also worked off the farm selling Lewis Cattle Oilers and Smith-Roles which sent him travelling throughout the province.  Always seeking knowledge and passing along all that he knew to his family to educate.  After spending winters in Medicine Hat and summers on the farm they purchased a home in the Hat where they met new neighbors and adjusted to city life.  Stan added some new hobbies to his list eg. Yard sales and singing in a church choir.

JOHN’S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, Medicine Hat, on Saturday, March 5th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Nancy Cocks officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Stanley’s memory may be made to the Carmel Hospice (St. Joseph’s Home), 156 – 3rd Street NE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 5M1.  Condolences may sent through http://www.saamis.com or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Stanley David.
