KUNTZ – Frank Kuntz ~ July 17, 1922 to May 14, 2017
Frank Kuntz was born July 17, 1922 on the family homestead south of Sceptre, Saskatchewan and later moved to Prelate, Saskatchewan as a young boy.  He was one of 13 children born to Adam and Veronica Kuntz.
Frank took his schooling at the Cululi Country School.  He joined the service after school and   after leaving the service Frank farmed south of Prelate.  Frank married Hilda Humphrey in 1958.  Hilda had two children from a previous marriage and they had 3 children together.  Hilda passed away in 1970 leaving Frank to raise their children.
Frank was active in the community.  He served on the local school and credit union boards and was a councillor for the R.M. of Happyland for more than 25 years.
He was active in sports as a young lad and often bragged to his children about winning ribbons at local meets.  He enjoyed sports all through his life especially golfing in the summer. After retiring from the farm, he continued to golf but his passion became rock hounding, lapidary work, wood working, collecting antiques and fishing.  He always had numerous projects on the go and continued with these hobbies into his 90’s until his eyesight started to fail.  He leaves many treasured projects for his family to remember him by. He enjoyed the company he had the last few months at the Creekside Seniors Living in Maple Creek, SK. He was very fond of all the staff.
Besides his wife Hilda in 1970 and step daughter Linda Mastel in 2003, he was predeceased by his parents Adam and Veronika, brothers Adam, Henry, John, Tony and his sisters Frances, Genevieve, Margaret, Theresa, Rose, Katharina and Betty.
He is survived by his son Frank (Peggy) of Dorintosh, Sask, daughter Terry (Rodney) Gill of Leader, Sask daughter Patty (Mel) Cole of Grenfell, Sask, step son Glen (Elaine) Koutsky of Medicine Hat, Alta and son-in-law Richard Mastel of Fox Valley, Sask.  Grandchildren Jesse (Dara) Gill of Medicine Hat, Alta, Megan Gill of Shaunavon, Sask, Chad (Kali) Gill of Kitscoty, Alta, Shawn (Caitlin) Smith of Saskatoon, Sask, Tyler Pederson of Regina, Sask, Nicole (Ray Miller) Pederson, Jeffrey (Denene) Mastel of Medicine Hat, Alta, Tyson Mastel of Edmonton, Alta, Trent (Chelsea) Mastel of Calgary, Alta, Jeremy (Kaitlyn) Koutsky of Medicine Hat, Alta and Matthew Koutsky (Alexis) of Lethbridge, Alta.   Great grandchildren Brody Gill, Ben Gill, Avery Gill, Alexander and Reid Smith,   Hudson and Mackenzie Mastel and Jannae and Addison Mastel.  He is also survived by brother Harry (Betty) Kuntz of Taber, Alta, brother-in laws Walter Hercun of Calgary Alta., and Jack Sutherland of Eston SK, sister-in laws Loretta Kuntz of Prelate Sask and Louise Kuntz of Calgary, Alta.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kindersley Community Funeral Home and Crematorium of Kindersley.
A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
